Volunteer

The HOPS EMS team consists entirely of volunteer emergency responders and includes EMT’s, EMR’s, Drivers (units), and Junior Members. HOPS encourages all individuals interested in volunteering as emergency responders to apply. Individuals who are currently training may apply to be a unit pending successful completion of their certification course.

In addition, applications are being sought for volunteer EMR/EMTs who live or work in or near the following municipalities:

Training will be provided for those not currently certified as EMSVOs. Current CPR card and EVOC are a plus. Criminal history checks for volunteers, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Individuals currently enrolled in EMT/EMT training are encouraged to apply. Tuition reimbursement may be available with a volunteer commitment upon successful course completion (including passing the practical skills and written exams).

*Please note that all applicants must attend at least one meeting prior to the approval of their application. Any applicant under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must also attend the meeting with the applicant. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at the EMS garage. All applicants must consent to criminal and child abuse background checks. If you have completed background checks within the past 12 months, please include a copy with your application.
