2025 HOPS HARE RAISIN’ NEWS

2025 was another busy year for H.O.P.S., with 361 incidents.  Breaking them down by municipality, Herrick 64, Orwell 95, Pike 43, Stevens 40, Warren 28, Windham 9, LeRaysville Borough 18, and Middletown 4.  We assisted other EMS agencies with calls throughout eastern Bradford County 50 times in Apolocan, Auburn, Asylum, Monroe, New Albany, North Towanda, Rome, Standing Stone, Terry, Towanda, Tuscarora, Wyalusing, and Wysox.  While driving over 11,078 miles, our members put in over 1,600 person-hours on calls alone, not counting administrative time, meetings, training, or vehicle and building maintenance.  Our community training program continued; we trained over 100 people in Stop the Bleed and over 75 people in CPR.  We hosted tours for several organizations of our station, trucks, and equipment.  We held our 50th Open House celebration along with Herrick Township Volunteer Fire Company’s 75th celebration.  It was a busy year to say the least!

In 2025, we received gifts as memorials for the following individuals: Tom Durand, Fred Ross, Phil & Rita Swetter, Ashley Roehrig, Irma Green, Donald Allis, James Hepp, William Matson, and Brian Coleman.  We also received support from our townships: Herrick Twp, $15,000; Orwell Twp, $1,500; Stevens Twp, $4,000; and LeRaysville Borough, $750.  And from Bradford County, $10,000.

H.O.P.S. thanks our members for their continued monetary support through memberships, donations, and donations in memory of loved ones.  Without the community’s support, we could not do what we do.  Thanks to this support, we are receiving a new ambulance this year and continue to improve our equipment and training to support our mission.  We continue to add new EMTs to our crew and have 2 more crew members in EMT school this year.

We are always looking for additional volunteers, especially volunteers available on weekdays, as this is our hardest time, as most of our volunteers work full-time.  Anyone interested in volunteering at H.O.P.S. should contact Mark Fields at 570-744-1700 or email mark@hopsems.org.  There are many needs that you can help with!

Enclosed is the annual membership application to the H.O.P.S. Ambulance Association. Please consider purchasing a membership for yourself and your family. Insurance coverage does not always cover the total cost of a HOPS ambulance trip, which leaves a balance due. With a membership from HOPS, you eliminate that extra bill.  Your membership covers services provided by H.O.P.S. Ambulance Association only; any services provided by another EMS agency may be billed separately by that agency.  H.O.P.S. is not affiliated with any other ambulance association and is 100% VOLUNTEERS! We reserve the right for third-party billing.
